HOW TO FIND US:

Grianaig Guest House is ideally located within easy reach of all major transport links to the mainland and other Western Isles locations

By Road - South Uist extends 25 miles north-south and 5 miles east-west, and is linked by road to Benbecula (24 miles) North Uist, Berneray and Eriskay (9.5 miles) to the south.  The nearest grocery store, medical centre and post office is 1 mile away in Daliburgh

By Bus - The W17 bus runs Monday to Saturday from Eriskay via Lochboisdale Pier, Daliburgh, Askernish & Benbecula Airport

By Ferry - The ferry port for South Uist is Lochboisdale (10 minutes away) Calmac operate ferries daily from Mallaig or Oban (Please check timetables for up to date information).  Two other ferry routes are from Uig on Skye to Lochmaddy in North Uist, and from Barra to Eriskay (Tales of Whisky Galore), from where you can drive, cycle or take the bus to South Uist and cross the Eriskay causeway.

By Plane - The airport for Uist is Benbecula Airport.  There are flights daily from Glasgow taking an hour, operated by Loganair. There are also flights (M-F) to Stornoway on Lewis, these connect to other destinations such as Edinburgh.  The buses between South Uist and North Uist run past the airport on Benbecula (Please check airport websites for up to date information)
